With over 40 years of experience in Air Traffic Control, Rick Smith is a respected pioneer and the founder of a leading ATS resourcing company. His career has spanned the full spectrum of air traffic management, including ATCO training across all specialties, airspace design, real-time simulation and the development of specialist courses..

Being internationally recognised for his expertise in airspace  capacity enhancement and airport throughput optimization, he brings firsthand operational insights from working in some of the world's most complex and high-traffic airspace environments.

Beyond the technical area, Rick's leadership style is people-focused, grounded in a deep understanding of both operator needs and customer expectations. This approach earned him the Canadian Air Traffic Control Association (CATCA) Award of Merit in 2022.
