A problem we face today
The global shortage of Air traffic Controllers and Instructors has become a major challenge for the Aviation industry, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which paused training programs and led to early retirements. In many countries, staffing levels are far below what is needed, putting some major airport's and ANSP's reputation at risk, and what is even more important, causing flights delays, cancellations and overworked controllers at greater risk of fatigue and mistakes. The growing issue threatens the reliability and safety of air travel across the globe and on top of this, strict entry requirements, intensive training, and age limits make it difficult to replenish the workforce and to train new controllers quickly. This is where ATC Instructor Resourcing plays a crucial role.
